This 5 day Classic Assam tour covers the three things most visitors want: Guwahati's Kamakhya Temple and the Brahmaputra, Kaziranga National Park for one horned rhinos, and Sivasagar, the capital of the Ahom kings for about 600 years.
The pace is steady with 3 to 5 hours of driving on travel days. Kaziranga runs from about November to April, so for travel in other months we adjust the plan. Assam needs no special permit for Indian visitors. November to March is the best period.

Day-by-Day Itinerary (5 Days)
Meet our driver at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station. Visit Kamakhya Temple, then enjoy a Brahmaputra sunset. Overnight in Guwahati.
After breakfast drive to Kaziranga, about 5 hours. Check in and relax. Evening visit the local orchid park and cultural show if time permits. Overnight in Kaziranga.
Early morning jeep safari in one zone of Kaziranga National Park, followed by breakfast. An afternoon safari in a second zone can be added. Overnight in Kaziranga.
After breakfast drive to Sivasagar through tea country. Visit Rang Ghar, Talatal Ghar and the Sivasagar tank and temples. Overnight in Sivasagar.
After breakfast visit Joysagar tank, then drive to Guwahati, about 7 hours. Drop at the Airport or Railway Station. Keep onward travel after 9 pm.
